Installing a switch and wiring the 1-1/2 hp motor

 

This kit allows you to mount a toggle switch inside the junction box on the motor.

Switch/wiring kit: SK

  • Heavy duty 14 ga. electrical cord with plug
  • 1-1/2hp toggle switch
  • Toggle switch safety guard
  • Toggle switch dust boot
  • Cable gland and wire connectors

 

 

 

 

Drill a hole in the junction box cover approx 1-1/2" from the left edge as shown. Mount the switch with the safety guard and dust boot.

 

 
Punch out an opening in the junction box and install the power cord with the cable gland as shown in the photo.  Connect the wires as detailed in the wiring diagram.  Note the grounding lug located inside the junction box.

 

 

 

 

Carefully arrange the wires inside the junction box for clearance around the switch. Connect the switch and install the cover.
